The ERRA-TEAM idea

From yesterday to today - always on the pulse of development!

ERRA TEAM has been a registered commercial enterprise since 1966, since 1984 as ERRA TEAM AG, and is inextricably linked to the sport of table tennis through the sporting careers of its owners. More than 60 national championship medals and international tournament victories testify to their competitive experience and unconditional dedication to one of the fastest racket sports there is. Our work as successful trainers/coaches is another facet that we look back on with pleasure. This has resulted in our commitment and the constant search for new, interesting ways to meet customer expectations and help with problems. At a time when table tennis bats were still mostly popular with pimple rubber without sponge, the history of our company began during a training camp abroad. Rubbers with pimples facing inwards were known as ‘miracle bats’, and as topspin became better known and mastered, brands such as Butterfly and Stiga were the protagonists of a new era.

His contacts across borders, first as a player and then as a coach on the international stage, undoubtedly helped him to build a company that today operates under the name ERRA TEAM and maintains excellent relationships with the most important table tennis equipment manufacturers. DONIC, Yasaka and Nittaku were soon joined by Victas and Sauer & Tröger, which are among the dominant brands today.

In the many years that have passed, it is not only the technology of table tennis that has developed significantly. The material has kept pace, and what's more: it has had a decisive influence on the game and set the pace of evolution.

Looking back nostalgically, we may miss something of what used to be part of the appeal of table tennis: Freedom to try and customise the material to suit your own ideas... On the other hand, it must be recognised without envy that some performances are already being achieved at grassroots level that were once reserved for top players. This development can hardly be halted by ever more restrictive regulations. We are proud to be able to follow and support this trend from a box seat in the equipment scene and to be able to implement it in a leading position.
